Recommended itinerary

To get to Venice, you can take the buses n° 6, 6/ and 66 that will take you to Piazzale Roma in just a few minutes.
The itinerary that we recommend is very simple but pleasant and will allow you to get to know the most hidden, uncrowded corners of Venice.

From Piazzale Roma, head towards the station and walk along the Lista di Spagna until you reach the bridge Ponte delle Guglie. Once you have crossed the bridge, enter the old Ghetto, where you will find the city’s synagogues. On the edge of the Ghetto you will come across Fondamenta degli Ormesini, an area that is home to many restaurants and trattorias with tables outside.

Carry on along Strada Nuova and you will come to the wonderful Palazzo Ca’ d’Oro, one of Venice’s most beautiful buildings. Just a short walk away you will find the Santa Sofia gondola wharf, that connects one bank of the Grand Canal to the other: This is the right time to try out a ride in a gondola if you want to! You will come to the foot of the Rialto Bridge, the starting point for visiting the heart of the old city center, such as the mercerie and the wonderful Piazza San Marco. You will be able to get back to Casa Villa Gardenia all night by taking the night bus N2.
